10 Days to Prevent Administrative License Suspension
Following your arrest, the arresting officer will forward what is known as a DDS form 1205 to the Department of Driver Services (DDS). This form will be filed if your blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08 or greater or if the requested State’s test is refused. Once this form is completed by the law enforcement officer, there are only 10 business days for your lawyer to submit a letter to the DDS requesting an Administrative License Suspension (ALS) hearing. Your lawyer’s request will then prevent your license from being suspended immediately.
At this hearing, your DUI attorney can fight the automatic suspension that occurs when the Georgia DDS receives a form 1205. Attorney Richard Blevins can file the appropriate paperwork to request the hearing and begin working toward preserving your driving privileges.
